Last week, Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation sent an Army of Women study e-blast for the Breast Cancer Risk Assessment in Nursing Mothers study being conducted by Dr. Edward Sauter at University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler. The purpose of the study is to analyze biomarkers found in breast milk from women who are breastfeeding. The research team wants to learn more about biomarkers that may be linked to breast cancer risk and the effect that breastfeeding has on these biomarkers.
We first shared this study with the Army of Women in October 2013 and the research team has greatly enjoyed working with the AOW volunteers who participated. Based on the previous positive response, the team decided to send a reminder e-blast to enroll additional women so they could make their study even more powerful.
The research team struck gold again, with 210 more AOW volunteers signing up for the study—with a whopping 120 women registering within the first 24 hours of our eblast! The research team was so happy with the response that they are temporarily removing the study from the Army of Women website so they can screen and enroll the new women recruited, then assess their needs for additional participants.
Everyone at Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation sends a huge thank to the women who who signed up for the study, passed the e-blast along to a family member or friend, or joined the Army of Women to learn more. With your support, we can continue to move research forward quickly and efficiently!
