Bacterial and Viral Diversity Study

Collaborations

Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation has a long and rich history of collaborating with other researchers, institutions, and organizations to conduct innovative research.

DSLRF Driven Research

Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation conducts and collaborates on research that is primarily focused on fulfilling our mission of achieving a future without breast cancer. Many of the projects the Foundation undertakes are designed to increase our understanding of the human breast and what enables malignancy to occur, with the ultimate goal of developing methods to prevent it in the first place. The Foundation is also committed to participation in research that has the potential to positively impact the lives of women and men who are at risk for or who have breast cancer.

PROMPT Genetics Registry Needs You!

PROMPT was created by cancer researchers at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Mayo Clinic, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and the University of Pennsylvania. The mission of PROMPT is simple—to create a way for participants to provide critical information to help promote scientific discoveries related to cancer susceptibility genes. By taking part in PROMPT, participants can also learn more about how genetic alterations in certain genes may affect their health and cancer risk, while helping researchers to better understand these risks.

A Letter From the CEO

Dear Friends,

Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation is, as you likely know by now, dedicated to a future without breast cancer. For us, that means conducting research into the cause of breast cancer so we can learn how to stop it before it starts. This isn’t a popular area of research. Cure is much sexier. Cure means you’re fixing people and that makes you a savior.

Research Worth Watching: Digging into Metastatic Disease

Much of the discussion and debate about breast cancer is currently over issues like screening guidelines, risk, and prophylactic bilateral mastectomies. This focus on risk reduction and early detection can lull us into a false sense of security, suggesting that if we just do this early stuff right we can prevent all breast cancer deaths. But women and men still die from breast cancer even after screening, bilateral mastectomies, “precision medicine,” and targeted therapy! Why? Because we don’t yet know enough about metastases.
