Breast Cancer Vaccines

Currently we only have vaccines to prevent cancers that are caused by viruses. These are the vaccines that provide protection against the human papillomavirus (HPV), which can cause cervical, anal, and head and neck cancers, and hepatitis B, which can cause liver disease and liver cancer.

Researchers are trying to develop breast cancer treatment vaccines that will teach the immune system to attack cancer cells. A number of these vaccines are now being studied in clinical trials.
