Study Information

Risk Factors for Breast Cancer Lymphedema

The purpose of this study at the University of California, San Francisco is to better understand the signs and symptoms of chemotherapy neuropathy and the genetic (inherited) factors that increase risk of developing it. The researchers wanted to enroll up to 600 volunteers near San Francisco and they enlisted the Army of Women (AOW) to support the final stages of their recruitment efforts. The Call to Action for this study was sent to AOW members on June 10, 2015, and the researchers closed enrollment on Nov. 23, 2015, after the AOW provided them with 106 women who were interested in enrolling in the study.

Love Research Army

We combat the disparities that exist in research by challenging the scientific community to launch studies that are as inclusive and diverse as the people that breast cancer affects.
