Breast cancer is the most diagnosed cancer around the globe with an estimated 2.3 million new cases each year. While the entire month of October is dedicated to breast cancer awareness and advocacy, we at Dr. Susan Love Foundation for Breast Cancer Research wanted to create something that puts greater emphasis on the actual research being done. We are pleased to have initiated World Breast Cancer Research Day.

Our foundation takes an inclusive, global perspective. Collaboration is a hallmark of our foundation. I’ve had the opportunity to connect with colleagues at Breast Cancer Now in the UK, Europa Donna across the EU, and the National Breast Cancer Institute in Ireland through my time with the Foundation — all organizations that exist in answer to that need for awareness, advocacy, and research. The Dr. Susan Love Foundation is currently in phase two of a study being conducted in Guadalajara, Mexico, in partnership with GE Research.

Great things will be achieved if we all continue to work collectively. The fight against breast cancer should be a global effort. It is our sincere hope that in creating World Breast Cancer Research Day we encourage everyone across the world to come together and support the work being done to end this disease. Join us in celebration on August 18th, and learn more about the day here.

Love Research Army

We combat the disparities that exist in research by challenging the scientific community to launch studies that are as inclusive and diverse as the people that breast cancer affects.
