Dr. Susan Love Foundation for Breast Cancer Research Appoints Noted Nonprofit Leader Christopher Clinton Conway as Chief Executive Officer
Conway Poised to Build on Foundation’s Record of Achievement in Breast Cancer Research, Advocacy, and Education
ENCINO, CA, April 9, 2019 – Following an extensive nationwide search, Dr. Susan Love Foundation for Breast Cancer Research (DSLRF) announced today that Christopher Clinton Conway has joined the foundation as Chief Executive Officer.

I can’t wait to partner with him to take our efforts in the fight against breast cancer to the next level.”
Christopher Clinton Conway is an accomplished and globally engaged nonprofit leader serving iconic nonprofit institutions and high-net-worth individuals in pursuit of meaningful impact and lasting change. Mr. Conway launched his career assisting Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and First Lady Rosalynn Carter to pursue an innovative global health agenda at The Carter Center of Emory University and has built his practice as a fundraiser and legal advisor across healthcare, international development, and high profile cultural nonprofits. Immediate past President & Executive Director of The Joffrey Ballet, Mr. Conway also held key development positions at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), and, most recently, with the internationally renowned Doheny Eye Institute in forging a new, strategic affiliation with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Mr. Conway is the founder and principal of Philanthropic Counsel, LLC, with offices in Los Angeles and Paris, France. Mr. Conway’s practiced agility as legal counsel in complex major gift transactions and incisive business acumen directs transformative change. A sought after speaker and consultant, Mr. Conway is well known for equal emphasis on outcomes, efficiency, and style. He is oft-quoted on questions of tax and complex gifts, most recently featured on Bloomberg Television and in publications including The Wall Street Journal, W Magazine, Town & Country and The International New York Times

Conway graduated with honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and received a JD from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law. Conway also earned a certificate from the Center for Nonprofit Management at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, and a certificate from the Madison Institute for Healthcare Philanthropy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business.

For more than three decades, Dr. Susan Love Foundation for Breast Cancer Research has engaged in and supported cutting-edge research as part of its mission to achieve a future without breast cancer. Current research priorities include: 1) A collaboration with NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory to understand the structure of the breast ducts and ultimately construct a 3D map of the breast ductal system; 2) A Self-Reading Ultrasound project funded by the National Institutes of Health, which is focused on developing new technology that could dramatically improve access to life-saving portable screening devices in low- and middle-income countries; and 3) The Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC) Collateral Damage project, which uses crowd-sourced information to uncover the hidden physical, financial and psychological costs of living with breast cancer that has metastasized.
This year the foundation is also celebrating the 10th anniversary of Love Research Army®, the nation’s largest research population dedicated to mobilizing a future without breast cancer. To date, Love Research Army has enrolled over 380,000 women and men, connecting them to researchers who are dedicated to solving important breast cancer questions. Love Research Army forges partnerships between its members and the scientific community, teaches members about the clinical research process and connects women with innovative research studies. Earlier this year, the foundation launched a new app for Love Research Army, making it easier than ever to connect with this community and participate in research.
