Study Information

Technology-based communication after a cancer diagnosis

The purpose of this study was to learn how technology-based communication can be used to support young adult cancer patients and survivors. The researchers wanted to enroll 60 women between the ages of 18 and 44 diagnosed with stage 0-IV breast cancer within the past 5 years. Participants were asked to complete an online survey and participate in an optional communication task. The initial Call to Action for this study was sent to AOW members on January 19, 2019 and the researchers closed enrollment on June 7, 2019. The AOW provided them with 58 women who were interested in enrolling in the study.

Love Research Army

We combat the disparities that exist in research by challenging the scientific community to launch studies that are as inclusive and diverse as the people that breast cancer affects.
