On Thursday, August 13, 2020, we joined Dr. Susan Love for a special virtual wine tasting experience, hosted by Taplin Cellars in St. Helena, CA. We enjoyed the unique opportunity to engage in an intimate conversation and Q&A with Dr. Susan Love while enjoying a customized tasting program with Vintner Stephen Taplin.
Stephen Taplin MD, MPH, is an internationally recognized breast cancer researcher who formerly worked for the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland. He is now back in his native Napa Valley, producing Taplin Cellars wines along with his brother, Bill, including their charitable wine label, Melinda’s Rosé. All profits from the sale of this wine are donated to the Dr. Susan Love Foundation for Breast Cancer Research. Melinda’s Rosé was named for Melinda Taplin, sister of Stephen and Bill Taplin who passed away in 2015 from breast cancer.
Participants had the opportunity to taste the 2016 vintage of the Cabernet Sauvignon, the Taplin’s 155-year-old Estate is renowned for. This wine has not yet been released to the public, so they were certainly in for a treat!
