The Second Annual World Breast Cancer Research Day will be celebrated on August 18!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. At the Dr. Susan Love Foundation, we feel it is important to choose a day, outside of October, to focus on breast cancer research and the ultimate goal of eradicating this disease.
We selected August 18 because of the statistic, that one in every 8 cancers diagnosed globally is breast cancer. For men, the lifetime risk of being diagnosed with the disease is 1 in 833. The Union for International Cancer Control states “breast cancer is the most diagnosed cancer among women worldwide, accounting for 1 in 4 cancer cases.” At the Dr. Susan Love Foundation, we are proud to be part of the research community that is working to put an end to this devastating disease by focusing on cause and prevention.
We will be using our social media platforms and website to highlight an array of breast cancer research. We will lay the foundation for a worldwide celebration of recognition and giving. The innovative research being done at the Foundation, and all over the world, can help save lives. Please follow @worldbreastcancerresearchday or visit https://worldbreastcancerresearchday.org to learn more, and help us spread the LOVE for research on August 18.
